It takes a good foundation (Advanced Photography) to build your image upon. Then you use Composition and Lighting to make Great Images. Then you use Photoshop to make your Great Images AMAZING! You can't make Amazing Images without good Composition and Lighting. Photoshop can't fix bad composition or lighting.
Photography Guide & Instructor Dwon Güvenir has a true passion for teaching photography. He is an International Award Winning full time professional photographer who's work is currently in the PPA (Professional Photographers' of America) Loan Collection. He is a PPA Super Monday Instructor and he sat on the Board of Directors of the Portland Metropolitan Photographers' Association (PMPA) for many years. His work has been in books, magazines, movie theaters, television, online, on busses, on cars, and trains. He's the real deal and he uses his experience to help you improve your skills, get the right gear, and save you money by steering you away from gear you don't need. Expensive gear doesn't make great images, knowledgeable photographers make great images.

Description of Core Classes
Basic Photography Digital & Film Instructor: Dwon Güvenir 2 hrs. $33
This 2 hour class is an overview of how modern Digital & Film cameras function and what you need to know to become a better photographer. This is the first two hours of the Advanced class for those who want to improve their photography but aren’t interested in mastering the craft of photography. Public classes only.

Advanced Photography Instructor: Dwon Güvenir 6 hrs. $100
You will be an "Advanced" photographer after this class and learn Dwon Güvenir's "Tao of Photography" which includes everything you need to know to be in complete control of your photography in every situation. There are no “right” settings in photography. Photography is a fluid art form, constantly changing. You must adapt to each new environmental condition to create your art. This class is open to photographers of all levels with any camera. Bring camera and manual to class.

Composition for Photography Instructor: Dwon Güvenir 4 hrs. $100
You will learn to craft amazing "professional" quality images utilizing compositional techniques that will transform your images into award winning works of art. Stop taking snapshots and start making art! This class will help you develop your eye so creating your art is intuitive. Advanced Photography is a prerequisite. Bring colored pencils and practice paper to class.

Advanced Lighting Instructor: Dwon Güvenir 4 hrs. $100
You will learn to craft "professional" quality images using light. We start with basic light bulbs everyone owns and work into reflectors, umbrellas, soft boxes, and finally multiple strobe setups.
Stop taking snapshots and start making professional quality art! There is only one element that is always required to create photographic images, Light. It is the most important part of proper exposure, composition, and story-telling. This class will help you develop your eye and teach you about the tools you may need to complete your vision. Expensive lights are not required to create amazing art. Understanding light allows you to create art.
Advanced Photography is a prerequisite, Composition for Photography is recommended.

Photoshop® for Photography Instructor: Dwon Güvenir 6 hrs. $100
You'll learn the key elements to unlocking Photoshop®. This is not a class to learn a few tricks. Learn the tools that unlock the full potential of Photoshop®. Advanced Photography is a prerequisite. Laptop required for Portland & West Linn classes. Computers provided by Canby High School for Canby Photoshop class.

Holiday Photography Workshop Instructor: Dwon Güvenir 3 hrs. $85
Be the "family photographer" at all your holiday gatherings! Never miss another shot of friends and family or the wonderful dinner table. This workshop covers photography, set design, and lighting for family gatherings. Advanced Photography is recommended.
